People's Weekly World - PDA Supports Congressman Kucinich’s H.Con.Res 450 Author: Progressive Democrats of America Congressman Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, introduced a resolution Wednesday, July 19, that calls on President Bush to appeal to all sides for a cessation of hostilities in the Israeli-Lebanon conflict and to commit the United States to multi-party negotiations. The resolution already has 20 co-sponsors. Progressive Democrats of America is supporting the Kucinich effort and asking PDA members to write their representatives urging their support for the measure. A Spot Drawing I'm Happy With

I did this spot for the upcoming issue of the People's Weekly World. It is about the looming disaster when millions of people with the moronic Bush Medicare Part D prescription plan find themselves without any coverage once their initial coverage amount is spent on medications. The "donut hole" is the gap between where coverage stops and then picks up again after the individual pays out of pocket thousands of dollars to reach the "catastrophic coverage" level. It is projected that millions will reach this point in September 2006. Won't that be a pickle for Republicans up for re-election. I guess they forgot that it is mostly the elderly who vote. As soon as the article is published, I will post a link.

FEMA Institutes Strict Media Policy for La. Trailer Residents | Air America Radio The Federal Emergency Management Agency has instituted a policy barring displaced Louisiana residents living in federally-funded trailer parks from talking to the media without an official chaperone . According to Baton Rouge newspaper The Advocate , a reporter was ordered by security guards to leave a trailer when discovered conducting an interview. A FEMA spokeswoman confirmed the policy, saying an agency representative must be present at any such interview. The same spokeswoman refused to comment on how much the agency spent on the 198 trailers, only 15 of which are in use, an embarrassing fact that The Advocate had previously pointed out .

Israel has the right to defend itself against attacks but they don't have the right to obliterate a neighboring country. They have only helped destabilize a weak government and created more hatred towards Israel. Does this make sense? Does enflaming the Middle East into a major war zone make sense?

Today

I had to rebuild my blog tonight. For some reason half of the page wasn't appearing. When I looked at the template, half was missing. This time I made sure I backed up the template so all I need to do next time is paste it in again. Some of the alterations I've been making probably aren't correct CSS. Everything seems to work OK though. It was miserably hot today and the humidity was nuts! So much for keeping the electric bill down. The air conditioning runs constantly just so we are able to breathe. Asthma is not fun. I finally got the front brakes on my car replaced. They were nearing non-existence. At least everything is all done. It is inspected ($83), the oil is changed ($25.00) and finally, the brakes ($205.00). I'm sure this all would have cost me much more had I not gone to High School with the garage owner and he is a reputable and fair mechanic. It's so hard to find a garage that won't rip you off. Bored And Irritable

Boredom: An Introduction to Symptoms I’m so bored all of the time. I’m actually so bored today that I was doing a Google search on boredom. I’d have to say, that after reading about clinical boredom, I could probably add that to my other mental disorders. My interest level in anything is about zero. I don’t get any sense of pleasure or enjoyment from anything. It could be the psych meds. I know I need the leveling of moods but sometimes it doesn’t seem worth it. I have absolutely no focus on anything. The things I have to do become a grueling exercise in tedium. I don’t even enjoy drawing anymore. Reading is impossible. I can get through short news articles on the Web but books are out of the question. Every little noise distracts me and I completely forget what I’ve just read. Lately, I’ve been so bored that all I want to do is sleep. As soon as I sit down to do something, I get drowsy. Days seem to blur together and have no meaning. The doctor just increased my L...

The Kittens Like Playing In Water

Last night I was planning on giving the kittens we found outside a flea bath. I was expecting an ordeal. I ran a couple of inches of water into the bath tub and went looking for the shampoo. A few minutes later, my wife shouts for me to come look at something. This is what she found--the kittens slopping around in the water! I have never in all the years of having cats, had one that willingly went into any amount of water. The photo isn't a very good one since I didn't want to distract them too much. A captured some video that I will post in the near future. I never did give them baths since I couldn't find the shampoo. I'll have to see how they react to being really wet another day.
