Ballad of Kupkake

As I look through my huge collection of photography I have stored on hard drives and back up media, I usually come upon images of a cat we named KupKake. When we adopted her, in 2005, she was so very tiny and the name seemed to fit her.      Her intense eyes still stare back at me from her photos. Her gaze still penetrates me deeply.      When she was with me, I felt like our minds were connected and she understood my thoughts. I was also very attuned to her facial expressions, her ear direction and her volatile mood swings. She could be mean. Very mean. She looked the perfect angel but that was very deceiving. She never liked the dog and always let her know with a charge across the room, front claws swinging. The poor dog never knew what was coming. Even I, the only human that seemed to like her most of the time, could receive a quick swat with her razor claws. I would look at my hand and it seemed like nothing had happened. Slow...

Goodbye, Miss Tigs 7-20-21

In Memoriam: The Pooter --(Tiggy - 2006-2021) Tigs has traveled on her mysterious journey that we all must go one day. Last night, Tigs used what ever energy she had left to visit JD in his bed and made her way to ours for the early morning. She was saying goodbye. Too never hear her thundering purr beside my head again! I am inconsolable! She quietly, peacefully slipped away around 10:30 pm, July 20, 2021. You're forever in my broken heart, sweet girl; Tiggus, Tee-Gars, Tiggus Maximus, la Tigre, Tigs, Tignetia, Pooter, Tiggy Tiggy Tavi, Tigsaronius, Tigglepuss, Tiggly-wiggly, Tigtoes, Tiggtiggy, Tee-Dee, T Bones, Tiggybaby, Tiggy Sweets, Teetee, Tit-tees, Miss T, Miss Tiggy. You were our visiting angel for 15 years. We found you as a tiny kitten in the grass like a frightened bunny. Some worthless, walking waste of the Human species had tossed you and your brother, Hokus, outside, to be rid of you both like unwanted garbage. You weren't! You both were spectacularly special! Yo...

Sad Kitty Illustration

This was in response to the sadness I felt after looking at mr. moor's photos on Flickr of his recently passed friend, Ratje .

Finally!

I finally managed to get the kind of shot I was looking for. It is damned difficult with my digital camera since there is a lag between the time I press the shutter button until the camera actually takes the picture. That is probably the only thing I dislike about my camera, the Fuji S5100. I figure I just lucked out with this shot.

Chickens & Kitties

I forgot that there was no People's Weekly World published Thanksgiving week. I did a cartoon as usual. I also has some unasked for help while I was drawing the cartoon. Kupkake, the kitten, was sprawled out across my light board. By the time I was able to grab my digital camera, she changed position but was still making life difficult. She also likes to chase the arrow on the computer monitor. It's funny when she reaches under trying to find a way to grab it.

More Kitty Pictures

I'm a sucker for wittle kitties. So shoot me. The first picture is Kupkake with her new cuddle buddy and the second is of her giving unwanted assistance to my wife while she was restringing her guitar.

KupKake

We decided on, I guess calling the new kitten Kupkake. She is so dainty. I don't normally use effects filters on my images but I liked the way this filter enhanced the blue and green eyes.

New Family Member

After many years of not being allowed pets by the evil landlord of my former apartment complex, we finally have been able to aquire a little puffball. She doesn't have a name yet. She's a feisty little thing too.
