Silencing Kucinich

From My Cartoons Representative Dennis Kucinich from Ohio, USA, candidate for US President in the Democratic Party, has been consistently barred from participating in the corporate media controlled televised presidential debates. Corporate America seems intent of silencing the only Democratic candidate who opposes the Iraq War, the Bush doctrine of preemptive war and has authored a motion to impeach Vice-President Cheney. He is also the only Democrat to plan on immediate withdrawal from Iraq if he is elected. Big Oil will not allow this to happen. Print Available on DeviantArt and Zazzle

Author: Joelle Fishman, Rosalío Muñoz and Emile Schepers People's Weekly World Newspaper, 01/17/08 A look behind the anti-immigrant furor In the buildup to the 2008 elections, the right-wing Republicans have decided to make immigrants the scapegoat for the failure of the Bush administration and the shortcomings of the capitalist system. Right-wing personalities on cable TV, on talk radio and in newspapers are fueling this process. Vicious lies are being told about immigrants. The questions and answers here are designed to provide you with accurate information about the impact of immigrant workers and their families, with or without papers, on the United States today. Why are so many immigrants coming to the United States? • Working people in Mexico and other poor countries have been devastated by the practices of U.S. and other international corporations. So-called free trade pacts like the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) are imposed with conditions ...

By: Pascual Serrano Email: digital@jrebelde.cip.cu 2008-01-10 | 11:49:09 EST After seventeen months since the Cuban President Fidel Castro stepped down for health reasons, people in Spain are wondering what the situation in Cuba is now; few believe that normality and institutional order reign. This does not mean that what happened —or did not happen— on the island has been something accidental or surprising; rather, it is an example of the ignorance and disinformation that the international community suffers from concerning Cuba. For decades we have been hearing about the imminent collapse of Cuban socialism, about a popular rising against its rulers and unbearable mass desperation. However, since his illness forced Fidel Castro to delegate his responsibilities as head of state, government officials have functioned normally, the parliament has met regularly, in October two rounds of local elections took place without incident and virtually without abstention, and on Jan...

This statement was presented at the Cuba/Venezuela/Mexico/U.S. Labor Conference held in Tijuana, Mexico December 7, 8 and 9, 2007 On Oct. 30 the United Nations General Assembly for the sixteenth consecutive time called on the United States to end the criminal U.S. blockade of Cuba. This vote was virtually unanimous. Working people around the world and their unions - many affiliates of the AFL-CIO and ITUC - agree the U.S. blockade of Cuba must end. Cuba has achieved much that is well known and independently acclaimed - a free universal health care system, free education through university (extended to students from around the world including from the U.S. who study medicine free of charge) - an infant mortality rate unmatched by any U.S. poor community and life expectancy that is equal to that of the United States. And all workers have job rights in Cuba that are only a dream for most in the United States - first of all the right to have a job and the ...

Just $25 can buy a First Aid Kit to help a family in Darfur. I want to update you on the crisis in Darfur. UNICEF staff in Darfur tell me that displaced families are flooding into refugee camps. Sadly, many arrive at these camps with almost nothing. UNICEF needs your help now to meet the basic needs of these families. For $25, UNICEF can purchase a First Aid Kit for a family living in a camp. These kits contain basic supplies including soap, bandages, and first aid ointment. Soap is vital to maintaining hygiene in the densely populated camps. Bandages and first aid ointment help prevent infections.
Bill O'Reilly, The Asses Ass

Dear Jackass O'Reilly. Freedom of the press does NOT guarantee you a "shot". Move your lazy ass to a better position. That's what I had to do as a press photog. Sorry, but Billo would have got a face full of fist if he had grabbed me. Once again, Bill, you made a monumental ass of yourself. If I were Obama, I would expect an apology to my staff member. We all know that will never happen since O'Reilly relishes being a pompous pig.
