Message From MoveOn About Internet Neutrality

Do you buy books online, use Google, or download to an Ipod? These activities, plus MoveOn's online organizing ability, will be hurt if Congress passes a radical law that gives giant corporations more control over the Internet. Internet providers like AT&T and Verizon are lobbying Congress hard to gut Network Neutrality, the Internet's First Amendment. Net Neutrality prevents AT&T from choosing which websites open most easily for you based on which site pays AT&T more. Amazon doesn't have to outbid Barnes & Noble for the right to work more properly on your computer. If Net Neutrality is gutted, MoveOn either pays protection money to dominant Internet providers or risks that online activism tools don't work for members. Amazon and Google either pay protection money or risk that their websites process slowly on your computer. That why these high-tech pioneers are joining the fight to protect Network Neutrality[1]--and you can do your part today. The fre

Since I was a little kid, I have had an unnatural fixation on B9, the robot from Lost In Space. I’m speaking of the original 60’s TV show and not the travesty of a film made in the 1990’s. I know I’m not alone in my love for B9. Thankfully, it is being kept alive by many builders of reproductions . Robbie The Robot was Ok but B9 had something special. Maybe it was because, as a child, I wished I could be in Will Robinson’s position. It would have been so cool to have B9 tagging along. I always loved the shots of the Jupiter 2 in space or landing. Crash landings were the best in the early black and white episode. It was a bit of impressive special effects for the mid-60’s to realistically have the saucer appearing out of a cloud and skimming the top of some jagged mountain top. Yeah, LIS was silly but I loved it anyway especially during the we

I’ve managed to keep this little figure since the mid 1970’s. It has always been my philosophical touchstone… I can’t remember where I aquired it. I think someone gave it to me.

My cat, Kupkake, doesn’t like it when we leave the apartment. If she isn’t sitting in front of the door when we return, she can be found patiently waiting in her favorite chair. The original on my Flickr
